What types of cooling vests are there?

Three main types. Evaporative vests activate with water and cool as it evaporates, like the Allegro vest and the Chill-Its 6665 and 6667. Dry evaporative vests, like the Chill-Its 6685 and 6687, are another option. Phase change vests, like the Chill-Its 6230 and 6260, use rechargeable packs that hold a constant 64 degrees F.

Is there a hi-vis cooling vest?

Yes. The Chill-Its 6668 Hi-Vis Safety Cooling Vest is ANSI/ISEA 107 Type R Class 2 compliant and activates with water to deliver up to 4 hours of core cooling, so a worker gets cooling and visibility in one layer.

What are the hydration packs for?

Chill-Its low profile hydration packs carry water on the worker's back in an insulated bladder, so crews stay hydrated when they are away from a water source. Options include 2 liter and 3 liter bladders and hi-vis and reflective versions.

What is in Heat Stress and Cooling Gear?

Gear that helps workers handle hot conditions: evaporative cooling towels, bandanas, neck gaiters, arm sleeves, hats, hard hat inserts and cooling vests, plus shade tents and a 25 gallon hydration cart. The category also holds hi-vis safety vests and cold weather gear for the rest of the year.

Is there gear sized for a whole crew?

Yes. Many items come in crew value bundles, including Pyramex cooling gaiters in 140 and 290 packs, cooling arm sleeves in a 140 pack, microfiber cooling towels in a 250 pack and adjustable cooling vests in 50 and 60 packs, plus Chill-Its cooling towels in 15 packs and neck gaiters in 5 packs.

What is in Coolers, Cups and Gear?

The equipment side of a hydration program: water coolers, cooler stands and truck brackets, cups and cup holders, squeeze bottles, liquid concentrate dispenser racks and pumps, chest freezers for freeze pops, industrial cooling fans, heat stress and cooling gear, and job site basics like safety vests and hard hats.

What does a job site hydration station need?

A cooler sized to the crew, cups or squeeze bottles, and a way to mix the drink: powder, liquid concentrate with a dispenser pump, or single serve sticks. A cup holder keeps cups organized at the cooler, and a stand or truck bracket keeps the cooler off the ground and within reach.
